Looking for a chill place to drink after uni? Or perhaps you want to have pre-drinks at a bar with a large variety of alcohol? Located centrally in Melbourne, Horse Bazaar should be near the top of your list.
Walking into Horse Bazaar, you’re instantly met with some cool beats, sometimes even live music. With the bar to the left, there’s ongoing projections on the back walls that really nail the “Asian Bar” feel. There’s a decent amount of seating too, so small groups of up to six aren’t a problem.

The drinks here, while not cheap, are reasonable given this is Melbourne. What’s more important is the range of drinks Horse Bazaar offers. On top of your beers and wines, you can also buy nice Japanese sake, sochu or whisky (the latter for some reason always comes in a wine glass). But the pinnacle here are the signature cocktails made by the bartender. The menu even gives you pictures next to each drink of how it’s prepared so you know what to expect. Can’t reason go wrong here with drinks.
Food here is also amazing. If you’re an early bird and come during the day there’s a lunch menu which comes out quick and does taste as appetising as it looks (see below). Mains can be bought as well, or if you’ve just come for drinks then maybe some izakaya style tapas might be up your alley. Everything on the menu is marked if it’s glutton free, vegan or vegetarian so everyone is catered for!
Meltomo definitely recommends you all to check out Horse Bazaar at least once. We guarantee that you’ll want to return!
