ChangGo Korean BBQ 70 Little La Trobe Street, Melbourne https://www.facebook.com/changgomartin/?fref=ts Open:Everyday 5:30pm - 1am

Want to try Korean BBQ? Want to experience some of the best foreign food in Melbourne? Tucked away behind RMIT at the top end of the CBD, ChangGo is great for small to large groups of hungry students.

Now while this place might be hidden down a smaller street at first, ChangGo’s line becomes evident soon after opening. Expect to be put on a waiting list, so I’d suggest going earlier if possible.

But don’t let the wait put you off - if anything it only prepares your appetite for the feast to come! Once inside you can order a set menu which comes out as several different types of spiced pork which a wide range of accompaniments (rice, kimchi, salad, spicy stews). The spice is not for the light hearted either.

When the food comes out the waiter will cook it before your eyes whilst you salivate in waiting. The servings are big by anyone’s standards and bringing at least a few friends is a must. Beers are on offer but along with the copious portions of meat will only fill your stomach faster. It can also get quite hot inside, especially during summer, so make sure to dress appropriately.

This is some top quality KBBQ, and given many of the customers are clearly of Korean background it must be authentic. ChangGo should be enjoyed with a group of friends after a “hard” day or week of uni.
